1. Log into the Dashboard
|Note: Your dashboard URL might be different than the examples below.|
2. Click on the desired Application (if applicable)
An Application is a unique account for an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) or large corporation that has multiple Merchants and Identities beneath it.
Note: For smaller and less complex implementations, we recommend using Identities instead of Applications to represent your Merchants. Please reach out to us if you have questions about which hierarchy to use.
3. Create an Identity
Next, you will be presented with a form where you can input all the necessary underwriting information such as business and principal/beneficial ownership information. The requested data fields are required based on the Vantiv eComm platform:
Doing Business As
Date of Incorporation
Employer Identification Number (EIN)
MCC (Merchant Category Code)
Position (e.g. CEO, CFO, etc.)
Date of Birth
Social Security Number (SSN) / Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
Principal Percentage Ownership
Personal Phone Number
Has the Merchant processed credit cards before?
Annual Card Volume
Default Statement Descriptor
Max Transaction Amount
When finished completing all of the necessary information, click “Save” on the lower right corner.
4. Add a Bank Account with a Payment Instrument
After clicking “Save” you will be taken to the “General Info” view where you will find all the previously entered underwriting data. Next, click the “Payment Instruments” tab so that we can add the Merchant’s bank account data where funds will be settled.
|Note: This view serves as the “Merchant Control Panel” containing all related transaction data, settlements, chargebacks, underwriting information and Know Your Customer (KYC) responses.|
Once you have navigated to the “Payment Instruments” view, click the “Add bank account” button where will be presented with a pop-up form.
Input the Merchant’s bank account details and click “Save”. Required fields below:
- Account Holder’s Name
- Routing Number
- Account Number
- Account Type (checking or savings)
Once saved you will see the recently tokenized bank account(s) associated to the Identity.
5. Provision a Merchant
To provision a Merchant, the following is required:
- Identity with the required information
- Bank Account associated with the Identity
Once you have the required information, you can provision an Identity to become a Merchant. To do so, click on the Processors tab of the Identity you want to provision to become a Merchant.
Click on the “Provision Merchant” button to submit the information to Vantiv / WorldPay’s onboarding API.
Click the Create button to confirm the submission.
Once submitted, you will see a record of the attempt to board the Merchant onto the Litle / Vantiv eComm platform. You will notice that the Onboarding State is in PROVISIONING and will remain in this state until we receive a response back from the onboarding API.
After 2-5 minutes refresh your browser to see if the Onboarding State has been updated to either APPROVED or REJECTED.
6. Verify Merchant
Below is an example of a Merchant that is successfully provisioned via the onboarding API and has an APPROVED onboarding state. This Merchant Identification Number (MID) is now capable of processing live transactions.
To see the full response details from the onboarding API click anywhere on the table row.
If you scroll to the bottom of this view you will see the Verifications section, which contains the full response from the onboarding API, including the Know Your Customer (KYC) scores if the value-added service is enabled. At the very bottom, you will find the subMerchantID that was provisioned.
In the example below, you will see an example of a REJECTED Merchant. To see the full response details from the onboarding API, simply click anywhere on the table row.
You will see in the Verifications section the error code and reason that prevented the Merchant from being successfully provisioned.
If a specific data point is invalid or needs to be updated you can always click on the “Edit” button in the top right corner.
This action will prompt a form with the previously submitted information where you can update information accordingly. Please make sure to click “Save” at the bottom to store the updates.
You will be prompted with a final request confirming which processor to submit the updated information to. Clicking “Create” will resubmit this information to the onboarding API.
