TRANSACTIONS workflow
Note: At the time of publication, Finix is redesigning the user interface of the Dashboard. Some functions or features may look different. Check back for updates. This document uses mock data from Finix's sandbox environment.
Some features and functions may be unavailable depending on your platform configuration.
The Dashboard is categorized into headers with subcategories. The headers are:
- TRANSACTIONS
- PEOPLE
- REVIEW
- SYSTEM
This article focuses on the TRANSACTIONS header. Within the TRANSACTIONS header, there are multiple subcategories. A blue icon appears next to the subcategory to indicate what subcategory the user is currently on. The information for each subcategory may be repeated.

On some pages, there is a Related Objects drop-down that lists the Application and Merchant Identity ID. Click the link to navigate to the associated Application or Merchant Identity details page.
Note: Most pages have export functionality. To export a file, click the Export button on the right of the Dashboard. This downloads a CSV file.
For advanced export options, click on the gear icon next to the Export button. A pop-up modal displays various fields to export. Click on the Export button at the bottom of the modal to export.
Transfers
The Transfers page provides a high-level overview of the transfers completed for the day. A transfer is defined as the flow of money either to or from a payment instrument. A transfer can be either: Debit, Credit, or Refund.
On this page, you can search for a specific transfer type using the search bar, export transfers, or view additional details by clicking on a transfer link.

Authorizations
The Authorizations page displays all pending authorizations. Authorizations are also known as card holds, which reserve a specific amount on a payment card to be captured at a later date. When an authorization is captured, it creates a transfer resource.
Similar to the Transfers page, you can search for a specific authorization, export authorizations, or view additional details by clicking on the authorization link. Click on the authorization link to view authorization details and payment instrument information.
Settlements
The Settlements page displays all created settlements and their status. Each settlement consists of a collection of transfers that are awaiting payout to a specific merchant.
You can filter by four settlement status types:
- Accruing: lists settlements that are accruing transfers that have been marked ready to settle
- Awaiting Approval: lists settlements that have stopped accruing and can be marked ready to settle
- Staged Funding Instructions: lists settlements whose initial funding instructions have been overridden by an API call and can be approved
- Approved: lists all approved settlements
Similar to the other pages, you can search for a specific settlement, export data, or view additional details by clicking on the settlement link.
Note: For accruing settlements, you can choose to close the accruing settlement earlier than the set auto-close time. This is beneficial if you want to pay out your merchants earlier. To close an accruing settlement:
1. On the settlements details page for an accruing settlement, click the Stop Accruing button at the top right.
2. A pop-up modal appears confirming your selection. Click the Proceed button to stop accruing or click the Cancel button the cancel and close out of the modal.
